John F. Walvoord Walvoord, John (A. B. Wheaton College, M. A. Texas Christian University, Th. B., Th. M. Evangelical Theological College, Th. D. Dallas Theological Seminary, D. D. Wheaton College) is chancellor of Dallas Theological Seminary. Formerly, he was president of the Evangelical Theological Society and the editor of Bibliotheca Sacra, America’s oldest theological quarterly. He has specialized in the field of eschatology for more than 50 years, and has written over 30 books. Some of his books include Daniel: The Key to Prophetic Revelation, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ Our Lord, Every Prophecy of the Bible, The Final Drama, and End Times: An Explanation of World Events in Biblical Prophecy. The Twentieth Century Dictionary of Christian Biography described him as one of the most influential of the theologians who advocate a pretribulational rapture, a literal thousand-year millennium, and a distinction between Israel and the church. Benjamin B. Warfield Dr. Warfield, who at the time of his death shared with Abraham Kuyper and Herman Bavinck the distinction of being one of the three outstanding exponents of the Reformed Faith in the modern world, was born in Kentucky in 1851. He graduated from the College of New Jersey – now Princeton University – in 1871 and after a period of study at Edinburgh and Geidelburg entered Princeton Theological Seminary and was graduated with the class of 1876. After a year’s study at Leipzig, Germany, and a short pastorate in Baltimore, he was appointed instructor, and a year later professor, in New Testament Language and Literature in Western Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh. In 1886 he was called to succeed Dr. Archibald Alexander Hodge as professor of Systematic Theology in Princeton Theological Seminary – the position which he held until his death in 1921. Leon J. Wood Wood, Leon J. (Ph. D. Michigan State University) was professor of Old Testament studies and Dean of the Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. Educated at Calvin Theological Seminary with graduate studies in Israel through New York University and at the Oriental Institute, Chicago. He is also the author of Elijah: prophet of God, A Survey of Israel’s History, A Commentary on Daniel, Genesis Bible Study Commentary, Distressing Days of the Judges, The Holy Spirit in the Old Testament, and The Prophets of Israel.
